HC summons actor lissy

The Kerala High Court on Thursday summoned actor Lissy Priyadarshan and asked her to appear before the court for violating an order directing her to pay maintenance to her father N.D.Varkey.

Justice B.P.Ray also issued summons to Ernakulam district collector P.I.Sheikh Pareeth to appear before the court on November 12. “It is gross abuse of power by the district collector, the appellate authority, and is contrary to all the provisions of judicial discipline. Lissy also willfully violated the court's order even though there was a direction to pay the maintenance amount”, the court held. The court passed the order when a contempt petition filed by Lissy's father N.D.Varkey, alleging that his daughter had refused to provide support, came up for hearing.
