Higher secondary Record pass in Ernakulam
A record 90.85 per cent students have cleared the the higher secondary examination and secured eligibility for higher studies in the district.
A total of 24,998 students secured the eligibility out of the 27,516 who appeared for the final exam. The pass percentage last year was 86.28 while in 2010 it was 80.73.
A total of 372 students secured A+ in all subjects against 373 last year. The district has won the second place and is just behind Thrissur.
There was a two-fold increase in the number of schools that secured 100 per cent pass. A total of 14 schools achieved this feat this year.
The district came out with sterling performances in the technical higher secondary section also. The total pass percentage is 93.63 against last year’s 89.94 secured by three schools in the district.
Students in Ernakulam district secured the maximum number of A+ in the state. In the open school section, the pass percentage was 53.63, an improvement on last year’s 41.31.
