Homage to navodaya appachan

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy paid tribute to veteran director and producer Navodaya Appachan, who passed away on Monday at a private hospital here.

Oommen Chandy came at the Navodaya studio at Kakkanad to pay tribute to the eminent film personality. Earlier, minister for culture K.C. Joseph also paid tributes to Navodaya Appachan.

The CM has given instru-ction to the state chief secretary K. Jayakumar to make arrangements for giving state honour to the veteran producer during the funeral to be held in Chennai.

The state police will escort the body of Navodaya Appachan up to the state border.

Several political leaders paid tributes to Navodaya Appachan when his body was kept at Ernakulam Town Hall to pay homage.

Union minister K.C. Venu-gopal, minister P.K. Kunh-alikutty and MLAs Hibi Eden, Benny Behanan paid homage to Appachan.

From the film world, T.K Rajeev Kumar, Sibi Mala-yil, Fazil, Siddique, Innoc-ent, Menaka Suresh and T.E. Vasudevan was there to pay their tributes.
