Jose Cyriac new chief secretary

Senior IAS officer K. Jose Cyriac, who is now on central deputation, would be the next Chief Secretary of the state.

He will take over from incumbent K. Jayakumar whose tenure will end later this month. Jayakumar would however continue to be the Special Commissioner for Sabarimala Temple.

At the cabient briefing, chief minister Oommen Chandy said the government had urged the Centre to provide the services of Cyriac to the State. Cyriac, a 1977 batch officer, is currently secretary to thedepartment of chemicals and fertilisers.

Taxes secretary A. Ajith Kumar has been given additional charge of general education. Land revenue commissioner T.O. Sooraj has been posted as secretary to public works and housing while labour secretary X. Anil will be food secretary.
