Kerala ahead in Central schemes for poor
The 15-member parliamentary panel on social justice and empowerment visiting the state has observed that Kerala is ahead of the rest of the country in implementing Central schemes for socially weak and backward sections and also minorities.
The committee also asked officials in the state to work with cent per cent commitment to take the Central schemes to their fruitful conclusion.
The committee members who are camping in Kochi, held discussions with officials in the district administration including district collector P.I. Sheikh Pareeth and also officials of departments for socially weak and backward sections and assessed implementation of schemes in the district. Dr Manda Jagnnath is leading the delegation.
