Kerala travel mart begins today

Kochi is all set to host the four-day-long biennial Kerala Travel Mart starting on Thursday.

According to KTM president Riyaz Ahmed efforts are on to have Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurate the event ‘at least online’ as he is indisposed.

A good number of the more than 500 delegates from 48 countries had arrived and were visiting important tourist spots and properties, he said.

The country’s biggest tourism buyer-seller mart will have the largest team of 57 from the UAE followed by the UK with 45 and Germany 43.

Over 1,700 domestic delegates are expected of which 560 are from Maharashtra.
