King khan not Guilty, says police
The police here has given a clean chit to superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was accused of performing with “skimpily-dressed” women at the inauguration of an Emmanuel Silks showroom at the Kaloor International Stadium in December 2011.
While the actor has been accused of violating the provisions of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986, the Kochi City police has submitted before the high court that the actor had not done anything that could be termed as “indecent representation of women.” The police further submitted that more witnesses would be questioned.
Deputy city police commissioner T Gopalakrishna Pillai said the five witnesses, who deposed to the cops so far in the case, stated that the women who danced along with the actor were wearing 'skin-tight dress' at the time of dancing, but they had not done anything that could be termed as indecent representation of women.
The police further submitted that investigation in the case was progressing and more witnesses would be questioned. The final report would be submitted soon after the completion of the investigation,
police said.
Earlier, the court had directed the Palarivattom police to register a case against ‘King Khan’ for ‘dancing with cheer girls’ during his visit to Kochi.
