Load-shedding from 6 to 10 pm
As per the order, night-time load-shedding would be effective from 6 pm to 10 pm. At present, night-time load shedding was scheduled from 6.30 pm to 10.30 pm.
The commission postponed its decision on other recommendations of the KSEB, including declaring a power-cut for industrial consumers and further increase in power tariff. The commission will organise a public hearing on December 10 before deciding on more restrictions on consumption.
KSEB had pleaded with the commission to allow it levy `11 per unit for every unit above 200 from domestic consumers. The board wanted load shedding to be extended till June. It also urged the commission to allow it levy `11 per extra unit from industries consuming more than 80 percent of the present use.
The board had pleaded that the load shedding be allowed to continue as retreating monsoon had failed to improve the water levels in all the state hydel reservoirs.
