Merchant navy officer held for blackmailing RJ

The Ernakulam North Police on Monday arrested a merchant navy officer and his friend, a woman, on charges of sending obscene pictures of a radio jockey through emails and blackmailing her later.

The arrested were identified as Ashwin, 25,of Kuzhalmannam in Palakkad and Gayathri, 26, of Petta, Thiruvananthapuram.

According to the police the duo sent obscene pictures of their mutual friend to her colleagues.
The victim, who is an RJ, works in Dubai. The case was registered on the basis of a complaint registered by her mother.

“The accused first sent the pictures to the victim herself and later to her relatives and colleagues. ersonal grudge is believed to be the reason behind the incident”, the police said.

The two were produced before the magistrate on Monday.
