Mistry on mission to end row
AICC general secretary in charge of the state party affairs, Madhusoodanan Mistry, held talks with Congress leaders here to settle the infighting in the party over the ‘fifth minister’ issue and re-allocation of portfolios by chief minister Oommen Chandy.
Here in connection with the Maha Panchayat organized by the KPCC on Saturday, Mistry held separate talks with the chief minister as also central minister Vayalar Ravi and KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala.
Chennithala had gone on record saying that the party was not informed of the reshuffle, while the chief minister tried to play it down, saying that he had obtained the nod from the central leadership.
Mistry is on a mission to sort out the differences between the party leaders who have aligned under different groups and some publicly stating that the League’s wangling over the fifth cabinet berth was unacceptable. No details of Mistry’s talks were available.
Chennithala told the mediapersons that there were no differences in the party and it was decided that the party would unitedly go forward.
