More victims in Paravoor case
The Paravoor police probing the case in which a 22-year-old girl was trapped and molested by a blackmailing gang, suspects that more girls might have fallen victim to the machinations of the culprits.
The youngsters arrested, Sibin, 25 of Paravoor, Sherin, 33, of Munambam and Rajesh alias Kuttan Mani, 33, of Pattanam have purportedly been in the blackmailing business for the past couple of years.
Though no other complaints have yet been received in this regard, the police suspects they would get more details once the accused are quizzed.
The cops are set to submit a petition before the Kothamangalam chief judicial magistrate on Monday seeking custody of the trio.
The police also hopes to recover the money and the gold that the gang had siphoned off from the girl after blackmailing her.
Meanwhile, the police has issued a look-out notice for the second accused Rojo, who has been absconding since the arrest of the other three.
Rojo has links in the television and cinema industries, which also strengthens the doubt that the blackmailing nexus could be large.
According to the police, the girl, a nurse by profession, was tricked by Sibin with the promise of marriage. It was Sibin who molested her first and filmed it. He later blackmailed her with the video and took `25,000 and 15 sovereigns of gold from her.
Later, the other three also molested her by blackmailing her.
When the blackmailing reached its heights the girl informed her parents about the incident and her father lodged a complaint before the Paravoor police.
The police is also in search for Sajith, another accused in the case, and a lookout notice
against him is expected soon.
