P..P..P.. Corp projects in full swing!
In a departure from the norm, the Corporation Steering Panel (CSP) on Monday decided to implement all its oncoming projects simultaneously giving a pass to priority system.
It was clearly inspired by the spirit of private enterprise that it had kept at bay until now since 15 of the 50 major projects have been conceived in Public Private Participation (PPP) model.
Deputy mayor B. Bhadra, who is also chairperson of finance standing committee , said the new decision would help in time-bound implementation of projects.“We don’t want them to get stuck for any reason,” she told the Deccan Chronicle.
She added that the council would seek the support of the stakeholders for early completion of all projects.
The CSP intends to hold regular review meeting to monitor the progress of each project and hold the implementing committees accountable for their timely completion.
While it opened the files for each Budget proposal on Monday, the panel decided to discuss their implementation at the next review meeting to be held in two weeks.
The corporation also plans to renovate its building, zonal offices, town halls and other structures it owns in the city, according to Bhadra.
The CSP has the mayor, deputy mayor, chairpersons of various standing committees and corporation secretary as its members.
