Quota for student police cadets?

The Student Police Cadets (SPC) would soon find themselves getting a few additional benefits when it comes to examinations and employment opportunities.

“The police department had made the suggestion long ago but finally the government is all set to approve the same,”a senior police official said on the sidelines of the district-level annual summer camp for the Student Police Cadets (SPC) in Kochi.

According to him, the SPCs will get five per cent (30) grace marks in the SSLC exams. “Now they will get 10 per cent in PSC examination and also will have a quota during police recruitment.”

Meanwhile, the four-day camp was inaugurated by Collector Sheik Pareeth on Wednesday and he, along with young MLA Hibi Eden and noted HRD trainee Madhu Bhaskar, interacted with the cadets – 172 boys and 89 girls of class eight and nine from 10 different schools.
