The SIT which probed the Raghu lynching case in Palakkad a year ago has submitted its final report before the home department, giving a clean chit to K. Sudhakaran’s gunman S.R. Satheeshan, the prime accused in the case.
The probe team recommended that he be reinstated to the service. The submission was made pursuant to a departmental inquiry into the case registered against Satheeshan.
The team has completed the probe and the final report in the case would be filed before the magistrate’s court soon, sources said.
Satheeshan, a constable deputed for the protection of K. Sudhakaran, was arrested in connection with the lynching case and was released on bail after the Kerala high court granted him bail on December 8.
The prosecution case is that Raghu died after being beaten up on his chest and stomach at the KSRTC Bus Stand, Perumbavoor, alleging pick-pocketing.
The incident happened a year ago. One Santhosh and an unidentified person are the other accused in the case.
