Student cops in 100 more schools
Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan on Friday said that Student Police Force would be launched in 100 more schools in the state this academic year.
The minister also said that women empowerment would only be achieved in the state when society ensured their security.
He was inaugurating the new building for Women Cell and Training Centre before launching the new Central Police canteen at A R Camp near Hill Palace on Friday.
He added that the newly launched Nirbhaya project would make sure that women were safe on streets and in their homes.
The minister said one of the major targets of the state government was to bring women to the forefront of the society. "Women should be able to walk through any street at any time," he added.
Initially, the Women's Cell will have a strength of 14 police personnel.
