Thrissur wins 18th CBSE youth festival

Thrissur district came on top and won the gold cup at the 18th CBSE Youth Fest held at the Sarabhai Scie-nce Park, Kakkanad, here, while the Rani Public Sch-ool, Vadakara, lifted the Overall Champions trophy. Ernakulam and Kozhikode districts came second and third respectively in the over-all points table.
It was a nail-biting finish for the Rani Public School who secured the top position by bagging 573 points. It has to win medals in the last two competitions held to pip SN Vidhyalaya, Chandrapinni (555 points), which had led the points table in the first two days. IES Chittilapilli came third with 520 points.

The star of the ‘Sarga Sangamam 2012’ was Row-eena James, a class IX student of the Kendriya Vidh-yalaya, Port Trust who won the ‘Kalatilakam title’ in Category IV. She was also ‘Kalatilakam’ in 2010 and just missed the title last year when there was a tie and another student got the advantage of participating in group category.
