‘Twitition’ turns a big hit among netizens
Twitition, an online format for petitions via twitter and other social media sites is gathering momentum.
Twitition helps one create, sign and share petitions with people on Twitter while on Facebook people can join the cause by just ‘signing the petition’.
Many Indians are using twitition for various issues like change in telecast schedules, or for pleas to bring their favorite music bands to India.
The latest twitition creating waves on cyber space is regarding the telecast of the English Premier League match of Arsenal Football Club.
More than 1,000 twitter users have registered their protest and have asked ESPN, to change the telecast schedule of the match which is on Wednesday night.
As per the current schedule, the match will be shown on ESPN HD channel which is not available for a whole lot of people.
Some of the interesting subjects the tweeples petition are: Scrap student loans, bring One Direction to India, the distance education in India and dear Justin Bieber, please come to India!
However, several social issues are also creating buzz on twitter and Facebook like the Koodankulam struggle, Afzal Guru issue, the 3G scandal and the retirement of Sachin Tendulkar. Ajmal Kasab’s hanging had topped the list a couple of days ago.
