Two arrested for pick-pocketing

Two persons were arrested from Thrippunithura on Monday on charges of pickpocketing.

The arrested were identified as Najeeb alias Pallan Najeeb (37) of Palluruthy and Shyju alias Kunjan Shyju (30) of Kannamaly.

The police said the duo had been operating in Mattanchery and Ernakulam areas over the past couple of years.

But, when they realized that the city police is in search of them, they shifted their operation location to Thrippunithura.

The police also seized several mobile phones from them.

According to police, crowded buses were their hot targets.

The two are also accused in several pick-pocketing cases at Palluruthy, Panangadu, Town, South, Central and Thrippunithura stations.
