Unsubsidised LPG to cost over Rs 900 now
The price of LPG per cylinder without subsidy for domestic use has been raised to over Rs 900, from a proposed price of Rs.789 earlier.
The price is applicable to LPG outside the subsidized quota of six cylinders per year. The price of cylinders under the industrial category has been raised to Rs.1,648 from the proposed 1,435.
The decision was taken after a meeting of the oil co-ordination. committee in New Delhi on Monday. The price hike is with immediate effect.
From now on, the price of LPG will change every month.
Incidentally, while several states have raised the subsidized quota of domestic cylinders from six to nine, the state government had decided to give this benefit to only the households in the BPL category.
