Vegetable fair begins at Kaloor

The vegetable fair organised by VFPCK (Vegetable & Fruit Promotion Council of Kerala) was inaugurated at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium on Friday.

The fair, where the vegetables are sold at 30 per cent less than the market price, is a part of the market intervention strategy of the government.

“The aim of the fair is to provide quality vegetables to consumers at less than market price and a reasonable price to farmers as well,” says Sindhu, the marketing manager of the fair.

The Horticorp and Horticultural Mission would put up vegetable stalls at 25 Supplyco outlets in taluks.
The fair was inaugurated by excise minister K. Babu.
