‘We do not work hard after winning election’
State panchayat and rural development minister Anisur Rahaman on Tuesday admitted that the state government has failed to implement all its programmes. He made this confession on the floor of the Assembly on Tuesday. During his reply to the panchayat and rural development department budget discussion, he even said, “Generally, we do lot of works to win an election. However, after winning the election, we do not work hard.”
Mr Rahaman also acknowledged the fact about alleged corruption in the panchayat bodies and urged all political parties to come forward to remove the corruption.
“The Left Front government has failed to implement all the programmes what it wanted to do. Our only intention is to get votes and whatever we do is only to ensure more vote. It is a true fact. We should analyse the things impartially,” he said in the tone of self criticism.
Speaking on the alleged corruption in the panchayat bodies, he informed that steps have been taken to remove it.
