243 students declared pass after re-evaluation

After re-evaluation of answer scripts, 243 students have qualified the Madhyamik Examination 2011 under the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. The board on Tuesday announced the results of the scrutiny and review applications of the students dissatisfied with their original results declared in May.
At least 11,786 students had applied for post publication review (PPR) and 22,734 students had applied for post publication scrutiny (PPS) which is re-evaluation of answer scripts. After the review and scrutiny of the answers scripts, the marks of 1,626 students and 2,900 students increased respectively. Interestingly, 243 students also passed the examination.
Board president Anjan Sengupta said that they were in talks with the West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education for the admission of these 243 students. “As the admission to Class 11 is already completed, we have urged the HS council to reconsider the matter,” he said.
