A building housing a private bank in central Kolkata was evacuated on Thursday after a caller claimed that a bomb had been planted on the premises.

The bomb squad started conducting searches in the building situated in a high security zone soon after the anonymous caller rang up the HSBC bank branch at 9.45 am.
The entire area has been closed to traffic. Further details are awaited.
