Congress calls 12-hr bandh in murshidabad

Union minister of state for railway and Murshidabad district Congress president Adhir Chowdhury called a 12-hour bandh in Murshidabad district on February 13 to protest against the “false cases” against his party workers.

Mr Chowdhury said, “Congress workers are being slapped with false cases in Murshidabad district since this is where the party has its best organisation in the state and police are working for the ruling party (Trinamul Congress). The bandh has been called to protest against it.
The Murshidabad police has lodged FIRs against Mr Chowdhury and 1,200 Congress workers for the alleged vandalism at the district magistrate (DM)’s bungalow on February 7.
