Constable stabbed, robbed in N. Delhi
A Delhi police head constable was allegedly stabbed and robbed of his mobile and cash by a group of unidentified assailants in the Bara Hindu Rao area of north Delhi on Monday evening.
According to the police, the incident occurred at around 8 pm near Kishanganj railway crossing. The victim identified as Ved Prakash was returning home after finishing his duty in Tees Hazari courts.
Police officials said that the assailants intercepted the cop at an isolated place near the railway track. “Two assailants caught hold of him and asked him to hand over his belongings. When Prakash resisted their attempts to rob him, he was attacked with a sharp weapon by one of the assailants. Prakash suffered seven stab injuries in his body while the assailants escaped from the spot along with his mobile phone and cash,” said a police official
The police is suspecting the involvement of local criminals. We have registered a case of robbery and are looking for the miscreants, police said.
