Differently-abled painters to take part in art camp
Differently-abled persons from West Bengal and Bangladesh are all set to get a brush of colours in their life in the upcoming inclusive cultural festival on January 24 being organised by National Institute of Professionals (NIP), an NGO, in association with department of social welfare, Government of West Bengal, at Mohorkunja.
Along with the renowned painters of both countries, many specially-challenged artists will take part in the art camp and exhibit their artistic expertise through the painted colours on canvas. Secretary of NIP Debajyoti Roy said, “Around 200 differently-abled people from Kolkata specialised in various fields will grace this year’s cultural festival. Apart from painting, there would be other cultural programmes on singing, dancing, recitation and drama.”
The specially-challenged people would also share the stage with people from various walks of life including key musical personalities like-Srikanta Acharya, Srabani Sen, Kalyan Sen Barat and Debajyoti Mishra. “Sections of our society think that these people cannot do the same thing as normal people can do. But the festival will prove them wrong.”
