GJM losing its base in Hills: Ashok

State urban development and municipal affairs minister Ashok Bhattacharya on Friday claimed that the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) is losing its support base fast among the local people in the Darjeeling Hills. Mr

Bhattacharya, a senior CPI(M) leader from Siliguri, also alleged that the GJM was resorting to double standards.
“In the discussion table, the GJM leaders agree with us on many issues but after coming out of the meetings, they change their tunes. Now people have also understood their double standards and that is why the GJM is losing its support base in the Hills,” he claimed. Mr Bhattacharya also reiterated that the state government wants to hold discussions with the GJM on any issue without any pre-condition.
