Gov: No conflict between Presi council, mentors
Governor M.K. Narayanan who is also the chancellor of Presidency University on Wednesday rubbished the recent alleged conflict between the Presidency Mentor Group and the University Council. Speaking on the sidelines of the inaugural programme of Convention on International Relations organised by Jadavpur University, Mr Narayanan said, “It is unnecessary to speculate such conflicts. Both the bodies are working in tandem with each other for the development of this illustrious institution. And they must be given adequate importance.”
Meanwhile, a member of the Presidency University Council University Bharati Roy expressed her discontent over the introduction of post graduate programmes in all subjects and Ph.D. curriculum in the varsity. “I agree with the views of both the chief advisor and chairman of the mentor group Amartya Sen and Sugato Bose. It would not be wise to introduce courses unless there is adequate infrastructure.”
