KMC to revive licence system for pet dogs
If you are contemplating to raise a pet dog, then be sure of the licence rules laid down by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC). Come August and the KMC would be reviving the licence system for raising pet dogs at home. “Licence for keeping pets had been one of the oldest rules of KMC. But during the tenure of the Left Front civic
board, nothing was done to monitor this aspect. We are once again reviving the system. Even those people who are selling puppies would also have to procure the dog licence,” member mayor-in-council (health) Atin Ghosh said.
According to the public safety department of the KMC, a licence fee of Rs 150 would be needed for the procurement of the licence which has to be renewed every year.
