Lady constable nabs snatcher

A businessman was looted of `49,000 and silver ornaments at gun-point in Berhampore on Sunday. But only a few minutes later, he got back his belongings, thanks to a lady constable.

The incident took place in broad daylight when three armed miscreants snatched the bag of Sanjit Pal after hitting him on his forehead with a revolver butt.
However, hearing the cries of the injured, a lady constable Ranu Khatun rushed to the spot along with some locals. She also gave a chase to the snatchers and managed to catch one of them who had the bag with him.
