LS bypoll: No decision yet on TMC candidate

The Congress and CPI(M) candidates will file their nominations for the Jangipur Lok Sabha bypoll on Friday.
The Congress has fielded Abhjit Mukherjee in the seat vacated by his illustrious father Pranab Mukherjee. The CPI(M) has fielded Muzaffar Hussain.

It will be interesting to see if the Trinamul Congress fields a candidates in Jangipur or not. The last date of filing of nomination is September 22.
Trinamul Congress Murshidabad district president Mohammed Ali on Thursday informed that they had not received any instruction from chief minister Mamata Banerjee to field a candidate in the bypoll.
Sources, however, claimed that an independent candidate backed by the Trinamul Congress might be fielded to queer the pitch for Mr Mukherjee.
Three CPI(M) state secretariat members Nripen Chowdhury, Madan Ghosh and Dipak Dasgupta will be campaigning for their party candidate, Mr Hussain while the former Indian cricket captain-turned-MP, Mohammed Azharuddin and filmstar-turned-politician Raj Babbar are likely to campaign for the President’s son.
