Missing woman is found dead
A young housewife, who was missing from her Lake Town residence since April 26, has been found dead. Her decomposed body, that was recovered from river Hooghly in Titagarh on April 27, was identified on Tuesday night following which a complaint was lodged against her husband and in-laws. The accused husband, his father and maternal uncle were arrested on charges of murder for dowry.
Sources revealed that Jyoti, 26, had been married to Bimlesh Ketia since January. Her parents had lodged a missing diary with the Lake Town police station soon after her disappearance. However, when the local police could not track Jyoti, her relatives sought help from the state CID on Tuesday.
It was from Bhawani Bhavan that they came to know of an unidentified female body. Hours later, they identified the body as that of Jyoti’s. The body was lying unclaimed at the Barrackpore morgue since April 27. Soonafter, her parents lodged a murder case against Bimlesh and his relatives at the Lake Town police station. Based on the complaint, the Lake Town police carried out the arrests.
