Mutual transfer for 10,000 teachers
With the formulation of the mutual transfer policy for the school teachers, the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) has completed transfers of 10,000 teachers. WBSSC chairman Chittaranjan Mandal said 700 more teachers are likely to be counselled to enjoy the benefit.
According to the commission, after the implementation of this policy, school teachers, librarians and non-teaching staff were allowed to seek mutual transfers. “We have completed the transfer of 10,000 teachers already, an addition of 700 more teachers are empanelled for the benefit,” Mr Mandal said.
The chairman said that the process could be conducted quickly as the counselling dates were arranged in such a manner that it was convenient for the DIs, secretaries of schools and headmasters. Their presence is mandatory during the proceedings of the hearing committee.
“The teachers are certainly going to benefit from the transfers,” member of All Bengal Teachers Association Utpal Roy said.
