Sunday night was a poignant moment for India as it spelt the end of the telegram service in the country. The tech-savvy young generation, who send messages via smartphones and social networking sites, will perhaps not understand the nostalgia, the sense of nervousness and even fear that the telegram would bring. But the older generation will always remember the service as an effective and convenient way to communicate.
