Bureau of revenge
The CBI raid at DMK strongman M.K. Stalin’s house was unfortunate, especially because it happened just a day after the DMK withdrew support from the ruling coalition on the Sri Lanka Tamil issue. The righteous indignation of senior ministers in the UPA government that this was not an act of political vendetta rings hollow. The country’s premier investigating agency functions as the handmaiden of the ruling party. The government’s claim that the CBI acts independently without any interference is too stale a joke. The fact that the CBI team leading the raid was dissolved as soon as it was condemned by the government confirms that the CBI is far from independent.
