‘Fanatic’ tales scare celebs
Ranbir Kapoor was shocked when a fan threatened to jump off the first floor in a Delhi mall if he refused to autograph her bare back. She then threatened to strip if he didn’t click pictures with her. The star struck fan also wasn’t bothered about about her fiancé and the security guards around her. How far do fans actually go for their favourite star?
Down south, celebs have also seen some ‘crazy’ fans who have shocked, threatened and scared stars. And fans, they say, are divided into two lots — the obsessive type and the timid but persistent type. Singer Karthik, had a fan who would write letters to him in blood. For the last seven years he has been dealing with good morning wishes from a persistent fan. “Every morning I wake up to her good morning wishes and everyday is ended with her good night messages. I have got used to it now,” he says.
There are also aggressive fans who invade their personal space, literally! Says Sneha, “I was shooting in Pallikudum for 10 days and for the first three days a fan would watch me all day. I didn’t notice him at first, but my assistant pointed him out to me. The guy said he was a huge fan and when I told him that he was different from my other fans and I too wanted to stare at him, he left and never turned up again.”
Actor Ganesh Venkatraman can’t forget the day when a dozen girls demanded to see him. “I was doing an interview with a local radio station when girls from a nearby college came to the office,” he says.
