‘I will fight it out’
The latest drug scandal in Hyderabad has not just rocked the city, but also celebrities, who are allegedly involved in it. Rumours linking south star Trisha to the scandal have shocked the actress, who is presently in Kodaikanal shooting for her upcoming movie, Manmadhan Ambu. Trisha was in for a shock when a friend from Hyderabad called and informed her that her name had been included in the list of people allegedly involved in a drug scandal that was unearthed by the Hyderabad police. Local
Telugu channels that broke the story, claimed that the name of the actress was found along with other A-list celebrities in the phone book of Nigerian drug peddler Chima Clement. A furious Trisha, not just dismisses, but rubbishes the claim that her name was found in the phone book.
“A friend from Hyderabad informed me about this. All this is 100 per cent false and someone is just trying to tarnish my image. I haven’t even been to Hyderabad in a very long time and I don’t know how my name was dragged into all this,” she asserts.
Does she plan to take legal action? “It is hard to trace the source or pin down the person who sparked off these rumours. I’ve already consulted my lawyer and on my lawyer’s advice, I’ve issued a media statement clarifying my stand. I’m not an idiot to sit back and take all this rubbish and I want people (especially the ones who are behind this) to know that I’m not a coward. Just because people want to grab headlines, they can’t drag a celebrity’s name into a scandal like this. It is very demeaning,” she fumes.
