10 helpings of bitter-sweet relationships
His earlier plays Anything But Love and Conditions Apply have explored different relationships and situations. Now, theatre director Vikranth Pawar has been travelling since the last one month to different cities with his new play Salt N Pepper presented by Ballantine.
The play has 10 stories that take the audience through the subtle yet darker sides of people who have been or are in a relationship.
Through conversations, chance meetings, strange incidents, and conversations that happen only in one’s mind, Salt N Pepper is a take on the darker side of relationships.
The play was staged in the capital recently. Vikranth says that the stories look at the funnier side of our lives. “While there’s a bit of humour in each of these stories, it also lets the audience think for a while,” he says, as he adds that a lot of personal observation has gone into the production.
The play is also experimental in other ways, as it has an adult scene in a segment called Phone Sex. Vikranth says that it’s important to experiment in order to evolve. “When we have adult content, we make sure it’s not vulgar but becomes an intrinsic part to take the story forward.”
