3 reasons you should wait to buy a car
In the coming months, the Indian auto industry will see three-four major car launches, if reports are to be believed.
The first to arrive in the small car segment is the “Made-in-India” Nissan Micra, which has already caught eyes, thanks to its sleek body. The Indian arm of the Japanese automaker will begin delivery of the cars from July 15, 2010 and intends to roll out 80,000 units in the current financial year.
Following closely is Mitsubishi Motors, which will launch the Mitsubishi Lancer EvoX with its Indian partner Hindustan Motors, under the moniker EVO 10 in July this year. The Japanese company plans to sell only 100 units of the five-seater luxury car which runs on a two-litre Turbocharged Incline-4 engine, and is expected to be priced at around Rs 30 lakhs.
The EVO 10 might not affect the sales of the Nissan Micra, but the Fiat Uno, which is making its comeback in the Indian market after 10 years, might do so. The Uno, which was pulled out of the Indian market in 2000, is expected to be launched in India as a new small car. With its newer sculpture and smaller, yet powerful engine, Fiat hopes to attract a lot of attention when it is re-launched by the end of 2010.
