4 makeup myths
The general conception of the perfect makeup is laden with several coats of misconceptions. A little more
information on the matter can help steer clear of some common mistakes we tend to make time and again.
You have to use a primer
No, you don’t have to use them. Some of us are devotees of face primer because it helps absorb the foundation quicker and better. But not always. If you feel you’re not getting the seamless results you were hoping for, skip the primer.
A foundation brush is a must
Celebrity makeup artists feel that fingers work just as well. They warm the makeup so it melts into the skin.
Base should go all over
While coverage is crucial, an even coating of foundation often gives your face a mask-like appearance. You have the most redness and discolouration around your nostrils, the tip of your nose and the bottom of your chin. So start at the centre of your face and work out. Also, you need the least coverage near your hairline.
Powder is a no-no
If that’s what you prefer, it’s absolutely fine to go ahead with it unless you have large pores. Stick to the even planes of your face (cheeks and chin) and avoid the forehead and areas near your eye.
