Agent-leman gets graphic

These days, actor Saif Ali Khan doesn’t lose a chance to promote his films. He was in the capital recently for shooting Homi Adajania’s next film, Cocktail, but he took out time to put it to some good use — promoting Agent Vinod.
Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Saif’s Illuminati Films banner, although Agent Vinod has been in the news for quite some time, the film is finally set to release. “The film has taken almost three long years to complete. There were lots of bumps and bruises in the making, but along the way I felt it was worth it,” admits Saif.
And it has been worth it. “My son Ibrahim is excited about Agent Vinod and plans to watch it with his friends,” says Saif who was in the capital on Wednesday. The film, in which Saif shares screen space with his real life partner Kareena Kapoor, is slated for release on March 23.
Agent Vinod is being promoted majorly in the digital world. Apart from coming up with online games, a graphic novel titled, Jungfrau Encounter, featuring Agent Vinod has also been launched. “Unlike yesteryears, it is the digital medium which is ruling the advertising world today. We have come up with several competitions, online and mobile games to attract youngsters,” says the actor-turned-producer.
Asked about his favourite graphic character, pat comes the reply, “Batman was my hero.”
And where did he find his favourite childhood action heroes in Delhi where he spent his childhood? “My childhood years were spent around CP. As a kid I was a regular at Ram Chander and Sons toy shop,” says Saif.
Although he has worked with action directors from around the world for Agent Vinod, Saif says that he cherishes his action scenes with Indian directors the most. “We worked with directors from France and the US, but the Indian action directors were more inspiring,” he says.
Following the trend of popular action flicks such as Don, Agent Vinod may also see a sequel. “It is too early to think about a sequel of Agent Vinod right now. But it did cross my mind,” confesses the actor.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
