All that glitters is Sam’s latest
The youngest of the pretty Reddy sisters may have taken a break from acting, but Sameera Reddy’s attention is far from diverted from the world of filmmaking. The Manoj Bajpai starrer Dus Tola, which released this week, also marked Sameera’s debut in her new avatar, that of a powerhouse producer.
Next up for Sameera’s production house, launched in collaboration with Sanjay Bhattacharya, is a comic caper on the lines of Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, National Roaming, followed by Then Tibet and Stamp Collector, a film based on Vishwapriya Iyengar’s critically acclaimed short story No Letter from Mother.
Sameera is excited about the turn of events. “I wanted to become a filmmaker before I entered movies. I even did a course in direction at NYSA Film School in the US. It was by fluke that I became an actress. In 2008, I assisted Rajat Kapoor on his film Rectangular Love Story. So the interest in becoming a filmmaker was always there,” she emphasises.
