B’town newbies on signing spree
They are young and promising, and geared up for their B-town foray. Impressed by their talent, Bollywood directors are utilising their potential and signing multiple film deals with the fresh crop of actors.
According to reports, Rati Agnihotri’s son Tanuj Virwani has already signed a three-film contract with a big production banner even before his first film Luv U Soniyo hit the screens. Newcomer Shiv Pandit, who won accolades for his striking performance in debut film Shaitan has recently signed a three-film deal with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. According to reports, Akshay was so impressed with Pandit’s performance in the film that he immediately called him for an audition for his forth coming film Boss.
TV actor Karan Kundra is a popular face on television. The lad is all set to make his transition to the silver screen with Vikram Bhatt’s Horror Story. The filmmaker was so impressed by the talented actor that he sealed a three-film deal with Kundra.
Confirming the news Kundra says, “Starting the Bollywood career with Bhatt sir is like a golden opportunity that came knocking at the door. He is a brilliant director and brings alive a special element in the film. He lends his moral support to the cast and crew of the film, which is very beneficial for youngsters like us. While I am waiting for the next two films I consider myself very lucky to work with such a reputed banner.”
Beauty pageant winner Urvashi Rautela, 19, is all set to play the leading lady in the Bollywood film Singh Sahab The Great. Rautela has already signed a three-film contract with director Anil Sharma. The director believes that the young actress as a long way to go.
“Urvashi is the leading actress in my upcoming film Singh Sahab The Great. She has done a wonderful job in the film. She has justified her role of a pretty Punjabi girl who is paired opposite Sunny Deol. The role was definitely challenging but Urvashi did justice to her role,” says Sharma, who is looking forward to work with Rautela once again for his next two films.
The proliferation of new and fresh crop of actors in Bollywood is a recent development welcomed by one and all. “Said to be a golden period for newcomers, many well established production houses are conferring them with premium film deals.
