Beer fest? Czech out Pilsen
When we think of beer festivals in the world, almost immediately we get the image of beer-guzzling Germans making merry during the Oktober Fest. However, we would be foolish to ignore their neighbours, the Czech Republic.
The two-day Pilsner Fest on August 31 and September 1 packs in loads of entertainment, a maddening range of lager and delectable finger foods.
Residents of Pilsen in Czech Republic have been brewing beer in their town since its establishment in 1295 and claim to have been the first people in the world to ever brew lager. With over 700 years of beer brewing history, we’re excited already. Say cheers, or as the Czechs say “Na zdravi”.
