Bhansali’s new muse
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is more than just a star director. He is every bit the star maker. The man credited with having introduced people like Manisha Koirala, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, Rani Mukherjee and, more recently, Prateik, whom he mentored through the latter’s initial years in Bollywood, knows promise in an actor when he sees it. So when he picked Jennifer Winget as his latest muse, you know you can expect some serious quality from the youngster.
Sources close to the maverick director say that Bhansali, following a successful stint in Bollywood, has stepped into the small screen as well. And it is the Dil Mil Gaye and Kasauti Zindagi Ke star, Jennifer, who he has set his eyes on. “Jennifer was signed on by Bhansali a while ago. But she was asked to keep a low profile and not to be seen on TV until the show was ready to go on air. But her subsequent nuptials with co-star Karan Singh Grover got her back in the news,” says our source from the Bhansali camp.
Jenny, meanwhile, says she has settled into a comfortable married life, but is looking forward to the show.
“With Bhansali’s name associated with a project, one can be assured that it will be a unique show and a totally different concept,” says a source close to the young actress, adding that the stars have been told not to reveal more details about the show.
“It will be a love story and will be high on production values.”
