Big shot in the dark
Arjun Rampal is flaunting his new fragrance Alive. Cheryl Cole’s line of shoes and David Beckham’s line of underwear has created a huge buzz in the consumer market. But, do people really wear these products or are they just meant for the shelves?
Fashion choreographer Prasad Bidapa says, “Who would have thought that Shilpa Shetty’s perfume S2 would be such a rage in the United Kingdom? She became the endorsement queen, oddly enough, only because she won Big Brother.” Actor Aditya Singh agrees, “Just because a celebrity endorses it, the product may become big. But why should people wear something that has David Beckham’s name or signature on it?” Many agree that they would wear an underwear or a pair of jeans that has the celebrity’s name on it. Model Roshan Isaac says, “If it is something trendy and stylish, I would definitely flaunt it.”
There are two kinds of consumers. One that go for the name of the product and the other that go for the quality. Beauty queen Tanvi Singla says, “Kim Kardashian’s Gold and Victoria Beckham’s fragrances are also doing the rounds in the market. I would wear it only if the fragrance was good.”
