Bips is tired of link-ups

Single but not ready to mingle! that’s actress Bipasha Basu’s mantra at the moment, who is making the most of her single status. The actress has been embroiled in many controversies after her break-up with actor John Abraham and her subsequent liaisons with co-stars Josh Harnett, Rana Duggubatti and Shahid Kapoor. But Bipasha is unperturbed about the allegations. “I feel that with every allegation I get the strength to deal with the situation,” she avers.
The dusky beauty, who is looking her fittest best in the promos of her upcoming film Players, says that her toned body is in line with her mental strength. “My co-stars treat me as an equal. The ones, who know me will agree that my tough appearance does complete justice to my inner strength. I’ve had my share of ups and downs but I don’t really burden my co-stars with my sob stories. More than my physical attributes, people like me for my inner beauty,” said Bipasha.
But then the question lies, that how does a strong and sorted person like Bipasha gets entangled in controversies over and over again? “I guess these insinuations come from the fact that I’m a people person. I’m friendly with Shahid and Rana as I’m friendly with my other friends like Susan and Rocky,” she answered.
“In January this year, I had decided that I’ll stop defending myself. I don’t feel the need to clarify my relationship status with Shahid or Rana. The speculations don’t deter me from living life on my terms,” she added.
Bipasha doesn’t let link-up stories affect her friendship with anyone.
Apart from other friends, she is also on back slapping terms with Akshay Kumar, Bobby Deol and Abhishek Bachchan. “I feel I can be a good friend. My co-actors love me and are very protective of me. Whether it is Goa or Greece, my friends Dianne Pandey and Rocky S fly down to meet me from time to time. That is the equation I share with people. But unfortunately, it’s the negative points like affairs and controversies that get highlighted,” laments the actress.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
