Bollywood ending, now out of Saints Row IV
Man, Saints Row IV sure is trying to be super stylish and bombastic as it prepares for launch next month. From the kind of stuff that they’ve announced you’ll be able to do within the game, it sure seems like they’re just bringing every over the top kind of experience you would imagine, possible in an open-world game and then just stuff it all in there.
Take, for instance, dubstep guns, or super high-jumping (ala inFamous) telekinesis, and even a freaking mech suit. It’s all supposedly in there. But what’s been taken out is a Bollywood number that the developers were planning towards the finish.
Yes, according to multiple reports initially, the developers were looking at including a massive, fully-choreographed Bollywood song and dance routine to put right into the end as a major joke and light moment. They’d apparently got the right context for it and everything. What didn’t work out, however, is that the motion capture team then proceeded to explain the gargantuan costs associated with said song and dance, and that kind of ended the entire discussion.
“The stars didn’t line up,” Jaros, from Volition said, but assured San Diego Comic-Con attendees “the spirit of the Bollywood dance number happens (at the end) and it is poetry in motion. It is so good.”
Well, let’s hope that’s good. Saints Row IV comes out August 20 on all platforms.
