Boys only night!

A still from Hangover, where the men plan a boys’ nightout

Swimmer Ryan Lochte was recently seen taking a break with his fellow Olympic pool boys Michael Phelps and Conor Dwyer. Ryan who is often spotted with his girlfriend Olivia Culpo, apparently wanted to spend a night out with his boy friends. The trio seemed to have enjoyed their guys’ night out. But we wonder what happens on a boys’ night out.

Every lad has his own interpretation of a boys’ night out, but contrary to the popular belief that men get wild if left alone, boys confess it is not true. They actually just have a few shots, talk a lot and seem to fool around with each other. Actor Sameer Kocchar thinks it is actually healthy to go on a night out with just the boys every once in a while. He says, “To spend a night with the guys you’ve grown up with is just great, language being no bar we have fun without having to think about what others think.” Asked what he does on a typical boys’ night out he says, “We meet at a friend’s house, have a few drinks, head to the club and just fool around. Besides that we just catch up on each others’ lives.”
After movies like Hangover and Harold and Kumar series, it leaves us wondering if men are really not up to something when left alone. “Boys’ night outs means complete freedom,” says Neelesh Dalal, an advertising production manager. He adds, “Some times you just need to spend time with the boys, have fun and just let go.”
Letting go may not necessarily mean clubbing and having a wild night, or so thinks DJ Sheizwood. He says, “For me, I just like to go to the beach or some place where I can be close to nature with my music and a couple of close guy friends. That’s my typical boys’ night out.” Many guys believe and highly recommend having a night out every now and then. “I think it’s something every guy should do once a week, it’s the best stress buster. Around guys there are no hiccups, and you can pretty much say and do anything and get away with it. Besides, nothing is better than sipping on a drink and reminiscing about the good old days,” says Manish Vohra a business entrepreneur.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
