Budding filmmakers set their frames
They love to tell stories. It is the art of story telling that they have nurtured since they were a kid. Thus, they could think of no other way than to make films on the topics that interests them.
The First Frame 2013 — Fifth International Students’ Film Festival that kick started at the Sri Ram Centre for Art and Culture, Mandi House yesterday — brings the first films made by film and media students.
Organised by Madhu Bala Institute of Communication and Electronic Media (MBICEM) affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), the festival provides a platform to media students across the globe. Prof M.B. Julka, director, MBICEM, says, “First Frame refers to the ‘first’ amateur production that any student filmmaker makes as part of his/her curriculum. We aim to promote the talent of these budding filmmakers and give them an opportunity to view and share student films at an international level.”
